How to measure and order the correct size filter:
Most filters will have their dimensions located on one or more sides of the filter.
As an example, if the dimensions dictate 16"X25"X4", this would mean your system will require a 16”X25”X4” pleated air filter.
Since air filters for heating and air conditioning systems come in a multiple of different sizes, thicknesses, and shapes, it can be challenging to purchase the correct filter for your system if you are not sure what to look for.
Therefore, we have put together a simple guideline to assist you in ordering the correct filter for your system.
How to measure your old filter:
There are three points of measurement to an air filter, Measurement A (Width), Measurement B (Length), and Measurement C (Thickness).

Example:
When measuring your air filter, you may have the following dimensions:
A (width) = 15 1/2"
B (length) = 24 1/2"
C (thickness) = 3 5/8" or 3 3/4"
If these are the actual measurements of your air filter, you would then order a 16"X25"X4" air filter. Standard manufactured filters will generally round up to the nearest inch (“) for ease of identifying the correct filter needed.
If there is no filter to measure and you are not aware of what size to put into your system, you should then review your owner's manual of your heating and air conditioning system to see if the manual will give guidance on what filter to purchase. As well, you may try to contact the manufacturer of your system to determine what filter is correct for your air conditioning and heating system.
